HistoryACM Homes is a niche property developer founded in 1992 by Antonette de Guzman, Carol Osteria, and Mia Gentugaya, with the initials of their first names forming the company name. De Guzman was Regional Director for Credit at The Elder’s Finance Group and Osteria was an investment banker at Chemical Bank in Hongkong. Coming home, de Guzman and Osteria teamed up with Gentugaya to provide affordable homes to an underserved market - the low to middle class niche – as a way of giving back. The women opted to provide highly affordable housing that went beyond expectations. Homes are comfortable, well-ventilated spaces in larger lot areas than the norm, with communities designed for a full family life no matter the housing project category – socialized, low cost or middle income. The advocacy to help Filipinos lead better lives through a secure, comfortable home life resonated with the market, enabling ACM Homes to build steadily and quietly, beginning with Cavite as stronghold.
Later on, Gentugaya, a senior partner in one of the country's top law firms, will step back from operations and stand as a consultant for ACM. De Guzman and Osteria remain at the helm, completing more than 12,000 housing units in 20 projects spread over 125 hectares in Cavite and Batangas. Each community is situated well within range of town centers, various modes of transport, institutions and commercial districts. The house and lot packages in these projects range from300,000 to 5.9 million, made more affordable with payment options that match buyers’ income levels.
Of these developments, Pacific Terraces Community in Carsadang Bago, Imus has grown exponentially with the strategic marketing alliance forged with Philippine Transmarine Carriers, Inc. (PTC), one of the country's largest crew management companies. PTC partnered with ACM to carry out its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program.
PTC and ACM Homes shared the advocacy of affordable housing as a human right, particularly in light of the OFW and Seafarer professionals’ special need for living communities that nurture holistic growth despite a single parenthood structure. The partnership enabled ACM Homes to exclusively tap the demand potential of the nearly 35,000 officers and crew deployed by PTC annually. Pacific Terraces Community opened more homes in two more phases, with Pacific Terraces Community South and Pacific Terraces Community North.
